Our Workshops are designed for the Maximum Creative Group Energy and One-on-One Instruction Time, so space is limited.
Tuscany Photography Workshop — What is Included?
Our small group Italy photography workshop is designed as a 10 day progression, layering skills daily, while still allowing time to enjoy and explore the beauty of Tuscany. For many participants, the distance and expense of traveling to Italy, combined with the time change are factors to consider, and the three extra days offered in our workshops make a big difference, allowing more time to hone your skills and put into practice what you have learned. Our students leave Cortona with a strong, consistent body of work, a proud reminder of their time spent with us. We also offer the shorter 7 Day Tuscany Photography Workshop option as well.
The cost covers personalized instruction for a ten day (or one week) Italy photography workshop, fun nightly dinners in a variety of Cortona’s amazing restaurants, and transportation on field trips to other hilltowns, vineyards, and our favorite countryside views. Breakfast is included with the hotels we recommend, often with a great and inspiring view to start the day. Included in the price of the Italy photo workshop are our fun nightly dinners together, out on the town in Cortona – something we look forward to at the close of the workshop day, after the last rays of magic light have faded away, the perfect time to review our fun adventures, talk about our work, and discuss plans for the next day, while accompanied by a nice glass of wine and great local dishes!
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?
Airfare, transportation to and from Cortona, hotel accommodations, travel insurance, and other personal expenses are not included. Lunch is also not included, although most days everyone opts to enjoy lunch together at another great local restaurant in Cortona, or one of our favorites in a neighboring hilltown.
FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!
You are going to eat well in Italy, and Cortona boasts many local and regional specialties and our favorite family run restaurants always have their own distinct versions and personal twists, handed down from grandmothers to mothers to their sons and daughters. Every kitchen tells it’s own unique story where we feel very welcomed. Since we are a small group, we often get personal invites from our friends, to dine with them and their families, or attend local food festivals celebrating the long traditions and rhythms of time and the bounty of the season.
We love staying in town and being a part of the heart and pulse of Cortona life. Cortona’s wonderful piazzas are abuzz, from everyday social gatherings to special events. Sidewalk cafes, shops, medieval reenactments, music, theater, and restaurants are all within short and easy walking distance. Our hotels also situate you in a great area for candid street photography which is a vital part of your workshop experience and daily agenda.
The Cortona Center of Photography participants are offered a discounted rate at several of Cortona’s best hotels. Please email us for our recommended accommodations list, covering a variety of price ranges, from simple comfort, to the more luxurious. Each participant is responsible for contacting the hotel to confirm their reservations and make credit card payment arrangements. Please book directly with the hotel and not through an online travel site to get the best prices.
